Taylor Swift’s longtime best friend Abigail Anderson is celebrating an important milestone in her life: she is a mother!

“Little boy decided to join us a few weeks earlier than expected,” Anderson, who is married to husband Charlie Berard, wrote on Instagram on Friday, August 16, posting a black-and-white photo of her newborn clutching her finger. “Our hearts are exploding with love. Welcome to the world Bennett, it’s all yours.”

Anderson – who has been best friends with Swift since their high school days together in Hendersonville, Tennessee – immediately received thousands of congratulations in the comments, with many followers quoting Swift’s song lyrics.

“Your little hand has wrapped around my finger and it’s so quiet in the world tonight,” wrote several fans, quoting the pop star’s song “Never Grow Up.”

“SHE GOT HIS BABY!!!!” commented another person, referring to the line in “But Daddy I Love Him” in which Swift sings, “I’m having his baby / No I’m not but y’all should see your faces.” (Anderson herself quoted her best friend’s words Department for Tortured Poets Track when she announced her pregnancy.)

While Swift – who is currently in London all week performing at Wembley Stadium – has yet to publicly comment on her best friend’s new addition, several of her celebrity friends congratulated Anderson in the comments section of her post.

“Welcome Bennett!!!! Great job mom :),” Gigi Hadid gushed, while Lily Aldridge chimed in: “Sending you so much love and congratulations.”

Before Anderson’s marriage to Berard – with whom she works at Celero Commerce – she was married to photographer Matt Lucier from 2017 to 2021. Swift served as maid of honor at Anderson’s first wedding.

Fans have long been interested in Anderson’s life, both in relation to the Grammy winner and independently. Swift memorably sang about her high school years on the Fearless song “Fifteen,” mentioning Anderson by name. (The Kansas University graduate also appeared in the song’s music video.)

“You sit in class next to a redhead named Abigail / And soon you’re best friends,” sings the “Anti-Hero” singer, later lamenting Anderson’s high school breakup on the bridge. “And Abigail gave everything she had to a boy who changed his mind / And we both cried.”
