Dr. Lori Langdon Voted “Best Pediatrician in Harnett County” – News

Dr. Lori Langdon, clinical director of pediatrics at Campbell University School of Medicine, has been named Harnett County’s top pediatrician for the fourth year in a row.

The Daily Record of Dunn, which sponsors the community-wide contest, announced the award in the latest issue of “Best of Harnett County.” The paper’s readers vote for their local favorites in numerous categories.

“I hope my patients and families know how much I care about them and appreciate this honor,” Langdon said. “It is my pleasure to teach medical students here in Harnett County how to care for children and their families.”

Langdon began working at the Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2022. All clinical chairs are required to continue to treat patients in their chosen specialties. Langdon works two days a week at Premiere Pediatrics in Lillington and three days a week at the medical school.

Langdon said the recognition was a “real honor.”

“I always say that patients don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Our hope is that by having students mentor in rural areas, they can imagine practicing in an underserved area one day,” she said.

“Working in these places brings challenges and successes, and the medical school is working to address the health care disparities that persist in these rural districts.”

Langdon also serves as Vice Chair of the Harnett County Board of Health, a member of the Board of Directors of the Harnett Health Foundation, and Medical Director of Cypress View Children’s Home. She is active in the NC Pediatrics Society and is an instructor in pediatrics for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.

At the medical school, she serves as faculty advisor for the Pediatrics Club, Med/Peds Club, and Christian Medical/Dental Association; in 2024, she was selected as the Harnett Region Preceptor of the Year.

Langdon is active on social media and is often quoted by local news outlets. She says she enjoys speaking to church, school and civic groups.
