Stree 2 Box Office Results Day 2: Stree 2 Box Office Results Day 2: Amar Kaushik’s horror comedy Stree 2, the sequel to the 2018 film Stree, is expected to ₹90.30 crore nett at the box office in India, according to Sacnilk.com. The film, starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi, had a stellar start at the box office. According to the website, there were special opening premieres of Stree 2 on Wednesday, where the film ₹8.5 crore. On the opening day, the film made ₹51.8 crore and on the second day it is expected to have remained stable, giving an estimated collection of ₹30 crore and the total sum amounts to estimated ₹90.30 Crore. A decline of 42.08% is estimated.
On the second day, the film had an overall occupancy of 37.46%. On the opening day, it had an overall occupancy of 77.09% in Hindi as it was a holiday. Now that the weekend and Raksha Bandhan are around the corner and there are positive reviews for the film, the business is expected to pick up, contributing to the box office success of Stree 2 in India.
Hansal Mehta on Street 2
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta waded into the debate over who deserves the credit for Stree 2’s stellar opening. He asked people not to attribute the success to Amar, Shraddha, Rajkummar or producers Maddock Films alone, writing on X (formerly Twitter): “Don’t trivialise the success by attributing it to a single star. This is a talent vehicle, brimming with exceptional talent for writing, directing and acting. It’s a triumph for Rajkummar, who we love because he is such a fine actor. It’s a triumph for Amar Kaushik for his mastery of the medium and his ability to skillfully transform a script into meaningful entertainment for the masses.”
He also listed how the entire film crew contributed to the film’s success, writing, “It’s a triumph for Niren Bhatt’s screenplay – from Taarak Mehta to Bala and Bhediya to Munjya, the man has delivered across the board. It’s a triumph for an ensemble cast that plays as much of a lead role as Raj and Shraddha. It’s a triumph for mainstream Indian cinema. Real talent finally wins out.”
About Street 2
Directed by Amar, Rajkummar and Shraddha reprise their roles from the original in Stree 2. The film tells the story of how Sarkata terrorizes the people of Chanderi and they turn to Stree for help. The film also features numerous cameos from stars that the makers have carefully kept secret. Varun Dhawan reprises his role as Bhediya and can even be heard in a song with Shraddha.
