Paignton Zoo has announced that it will be bringing back a popular visitor experience this August Bank Holiday weekend. For a limited time only, visitors of all ages will have the chance to enjoy a nostalgic ride on the Lakeside outside the zoo’s Island Restaurant aboard a miniature railway.

While this exciting new addition is no replacement for the popular Jungle Express, which held a special place in the hearts of many visitors, it does offer a fun and family-friendly way to explore the zoo. Plym Valley Railway’s charming seated train will operate daily from 9:30am to 5pm throughout the Bank Holiday weekend.

Tickets for the mini railway cost £1 per person, offering excellent value and an unforgettable experience for all ages.

Stephen Kings, Executive Chairman of the Wild Planet Trust, commented:

“We understand that the removal of the Jungle Express has been disappointing for many of our visitors. We hope this mini train will bring back some of that magic and provide a wonderful treat for families visiting the zoo this holiday weekend.”

The zoo recommends that visitors book their tickets in advance to avoid disappointment as seats on the train are limited. Visitors can also take advantage of the zoo’s summer “Come Back Zoon” offer, which allows visitors to pay once and come twice.
