Devon Booker was treated WORSE by Steve Kerr than Jayson Tatum, claims former NBA star

Most people would sympathize with Jayson Tatum when they think back to the Olympic Games in Paris. The star player of the Boston Celtics under Steve Kerr was mostly on the bench after an NBA championship season. His poor contributions aroused the ire of the head coach.

But did Kerr’s substitution hurt him, or did another Celtics star player’s performance drop? Gilbert Arenas believes one of his teammates was treated worse than him.

Devin Booker of the Suns was discussed on a recent episode of Gil’s Arena. His versatility on the star-studded Paris roster impressed the judges. Although Book was one of the NBA’s best scorers, he gave up his offensive work to become a hunter on defense. His enthusiasm allowed Team USA to apply constant pressure.

In addition, his opponents could not stop mentioning his numerous scoring opportunities. Agent Zero said it was the way Derrick White plays for Boston.

Arenas said, “So you’re Booker, who averages 29 points. In Boston, of course, he became Derrick White because LeBron is there and he makes passes with pump fake moves. The pass he made to KD? That was a layup. But when you put Derrick White in there, Derrick White gets worse, if you call that a word version of himself. First of all, in Boston, he’s going to make the shots that are free. Here, he doesn’t even think about it unless he’s completely free.”

To be fair, the former Wizards guard has been critical of White for some time. First, he questioned Grant Hill’s decision to trade a forward for a guard. Arenas added that White would still be grinning even if the team didn’t win gold.

Jayson Tatum, Steph Curry and Devin Booker

When Devin Booker made his debut for Team USA, the standout scorer showed off his dynamic personality. Not only was the 27-year-old a consistent scorer, but he also played impressive defense when he was on the court. While playing alongside NBA superstars, he showed maturity by putting the team goal above his NBA skills.

It reflected his winning-obsessed personality. Steve Kerr called him the “unsung hero” of the US team. Booker plays for the Phoenix Suns and hopes to win his first NBA title with the help of Kevin Durant, who remains one of the best offensive players in the NBA. On the other hand, Booker has kept his promise to work hard if he gets to play for the US team.
