St. John’s singer-songwriter Kelly McMichael has announced the release of her second album as well as a list of her Canadian tour dates for this fall. The news comes along with a new single called “Open (Hurts to Have a Heart).”
After the stitch will be released on September 18th on LHM Records. After their debut in 2021 Wavesit includes current singles “Bomb,” “You Got It Wrong” and “Too Soon to Tell,” as well as today’s new preview, “Open (Hurts to Have a Heart).” According to press notes, which use an art-rock production style, “McMichael weaves unexpected sounds around her poignant, incisive words, embarking on a self-contained journey through the psyche (and psychedelia).”
With the new track, the artist delves into the 70s, using her extensive repertoire of sonic milestones from decades, dipping her brush into enchanting, dusty tones that are reminiscent of RumorsFleetwood Mac from the 1980s. You’ll also find McMichael’s fall tour schedule, which will see her perform on her native east coast, in Ontario and Quebec, in September and October.
