Is Fortnite down? Server status and maintenance — SiegeGG

Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 4, Absolute Doom, is just around the corner and players are encountering server issues when attempting to play the brand new season. In this guide, we’ll explain how to check the current Fortnite server status so you can determine if there’s a general issue or if it’s just affecting your experience.

Epic Games is very communicative about downtime and server issues, especially when a new season is approaching. The Chapter 5, Season 4 downtime was shared with great anticipation on social media, but the mystery always remains: when will it end?

Are the Fortnite servers down?

Yes, at the time of writing, Fortnite servers are down for maintenance ahead of Chapter 5, Season 4. Epic Games has stated that players can already download the update, but won’t be able to play the game until the downtime ends.

The update is about 30GB in size, so make sure you have enough space and download it in time so you can enjoy Absolute Doom as soon as it’s released.

How do I check Fortnite server status?

The best way to keep track of what’s happening with Fortnite is to use the official Fortnite Status Twitter account. The development team regularly updates fans via social media and this is the fastest and most reliable way to keep track of downtime and other upcoming maintenance periods.

When will the Fortnite servers be available again?

Unfortunately, there is no estimated timeframe for when the servers will be back up for Chapter 5, Season 4. Based on previous downtime, it should be between five and six hours.

There have been some extreme, but rather rare, cases where Epic Games has been forced to extend downtime by nearly 24 hours due to server issues. The longest intentional downtime lasted 36 hours when the infamous live event “The Blackout” took place in 2019.

Once Epic provides an updated timeline for when players can expect the downtime to end, we will update this article accordingly.

And that’s it. For more content, check out all the brand new Vaulted and non-Vaulted weapons in Chapter 5, Season 4.
