Elvis fans can shell out ,000 for a day at Graceland: New experience

Want to be “Presley for a Day”? Here’s your chance. You and three of your closest friends can enjoy a seven-hour insider experience at Elvis Presley’s Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee.

Before you get too caught up in this idea, we should warn you that this day isn’t cheap. The Presley Day Tour costs $6,000 for a group of up to four people. (We’ve tried to prepare you for the fact that you won’t get “All Shook Up,” although you can still mark this tour as a “Return to Sender.”)

A portion of the proceeds from each tour goes to local Memphis charities through the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation, and additional proceeds benefit Graceland’s ongoing commitment to the beautification, preservation and enhancement of Presley’s home and grounds.

The new “Presley for a Day” tour begins September 6, is limited to just eight guests per day, and offers access to some of the Presley family’s favorite spots on the Graceland grounds for the first time since it opened to the public in 1982.

Guests will have the opportunity to participate in the family’s favorite activities, including golf cart rides around the grounds, a photo op with horses and a guided walk through the home’s front pasture, as well as an “upscale dinner” in the newly renovated Moriah’s House, which is said to offer stunning views of the Graceland landscape from the back pasture. (Moriah’s House was named after Lisa Marie Presley’s pony, which was once housed there.)

The Presley for a Day Tour is just the first of many events, tours and expansions to be announced over the next three years as Graceland prepares for the 50th anniversary of Elvis’ death on August 16, 1977. The legendary star was only 42 years old at the time and had been famous for half his life. His death, in the era before Entertainment tonight And TMZbefore the internet and social media, still sent shockwaves. Presley was a superstar on records, in movies and on television for 21 years, with tremendous highs, some lows, triumphant comebacks and a tragic end that is still hard to accept.

The culmination of Graceland’s “On the Road to 50” will be Elvis Week 2027, when Graceland hosts the largest gathering of Elvis fans from around the world.

The Presley for a Day Tour is a seven-hour experience for a group of up to four people (two tour groups per day possible) that includes:

Personal tour guide: Guests have their own personal guide throughout the experience.

A special suite package offers personalized service, including in-room breakfast any time of day, charcuterie and champagne upon arrival, turndown service, and a private midnight movie screening in the Guest House Theater. (Elvis appeared in 33 films – 31 of them as an actor, of which Love me tenderly in 1956 to Changing habits in 1969, followed by two concert documentaries.)
