STATEN ISLAND, NY — Later this month, camera crews will be working at Lee’s Tavern. Production company executives have warned Dongan Hills neighbors with utility surveys.

The streets along Hancock Street and just around the corner at Cromwell Avenue will be closed. The day of the shooting is Wednesday, August 21, starting at 8 a.m. Vehicles must be out of the area by 10 p.m. the night before. And Lee’s Tavern will be closed for only one day – Wednesday, the day of the shooting.

What is being filmed at Lee’s?

Diego Palemine was told that his family’s historic pizzeria and bar will be the setting for a scene from an upcoming AMC miniseries. The devil in silver.

According to AMC, the network “greenlit a third installment in its popular and critically acclaimed horror anthology series, The Terror.“ This new season, The Terror: The Devil in Silverwill premiere in 2025 with six episodes on AMC and AMC+, according to a February blog post on AMC’s website.

The inspiration for the show comes from Victor LaValle’s bestselling novel Devil in Silver. LaValle will serve as executive producer along with Chris Cantwell ().Stop and catch fire.)

AMC’s cast list reads: “The stellar producing team includes David Zucker (Scott Free), Alexandra Milchan (Emjag), Guymon Casady (Management 360) and Scott Lambert (Anjulia Productions). Emmy-nominated director Karyn Kusama (Jennifer’s Body, Destroyers, Yellowjackets) is also on board as an executive producer and will direct the first two episodes.”

Long story short, Devil in Silver follows Pepper, a normal guy who is wrongfully placed in a psychiatric hospital.

As AMC put it: “Previous seasons of The Terror focused on a British naval expedition stuck in the ice while searching for the Northwest Passage and events in a Japanese internment camp during World War II.” Season 1 is now available on AMC+. Season two returns to AMC+ this spring.

A busy summer for SI-Film shoots

This isn’t the only filming taking place on Staten Island this summer. In May, Lee’s also served as the setting for an episode of Blue Bloods.

Other films: In July, the former ShopRite of New Dorp building (now in new premises at The Boulevard shopping center) was the set for Peacocks Poker face.

And earlier this week, production staff returned for Poker facethis time behind Hook & Reel, also in New Dorp.
