Hear Kelly Clarkson and Kelsea Ballerini sing with Carly Pearce

Season 27 of The voice will premiere next year and will feature first-time coach and country queen Kelsea Ballerini.

The 30-year-old singer-songwriter will be making waves on the singing competition series alongside her S27 coaches Michael Bublé, Adam Levine and John Legend. Luckily, she has a very powerful ally in the form of Agree Coach Kelly Clarkson. Ballerini and Clarkson are both good friends and co-wrote a country song with Carly Pearce in 2022 called “You’re Drunk, Go Home.”

Ballerini, Clarkson, and Pearce actually performed “You’re Drunk, Go Home” at the 2022 CMA Awards, with Ballerini opening the song with her sugary-sweet vocals and Clarkson cranking it up with some truly insane soprano tones. Pearce rounded out the set with her powerful vocals as always.

While season 27 is not the first time that Ballerini has appeared in The voice (she memorably filled in for an ailing Clarkson in 2021 and appeared as a rare “fifth coach” in digital-only segments in season 15), she’s sure to bring new energy to the show that will no doubt keep things interesting. And with Clarkson by her side, Bublé, Levine and Legend should be scared.

In conversation with Hollywood Life In 2022, Ballerini described “You’re Drunk, Go Home” as a “super fun, honky-tonk style song” before adding, “I don’t think you could have found three more perfect women at this point in their lives to sing this song.” And she’s not wrong: Her voice complements Clarkson and Pearce’s tenors perfectly.

Pearce and Ballerini are best friends in real life. “We watched each other get our record deals, we watched each other get our first number one hits, we watched each other fail our singles, we watched each other fall in love,” Ballerini said. Taste of the country. “We have accompanied each other through all phases of life.”

She added: “I just think it’s nice to have someone who is in a very similar life situation and going through the same things. It’s just nice to have a friend.”
