“Nice to get this job”

“Nice to get this job”

CINCINNATI — There was a bit of chaos at the Bengals during their joint practice with the Bears on Thursday, but Joe Burrow didn’t let it bother him.

Cincinnati’s franchise quarterback enjoyed his work, even though his unit showed sloppiness against the NFC opponent.

“It’s hard to hold the ball and throw it outside the numbers and across the field, but it was good to get that practice,” Burrow said of the slippery practice in which he reportedly threw several interceptions.

He came through the rainy practice healthy and is ready to tackle more days as training camp reaches the halfway point. In Cincinnati, there are just over three weeks until the start of the 2024 season.

“Health-wise and playing-wise, I’m happy with what I’ve accomplished,” Burrow noted. “We’ve got a couple weeks of good work to do before we play our first game, so there’s a lot of reps we can improve on, but we’re moving in the right direction. … We’ll see when week one comes, but I feel like our running game is consistent with our play action, it’s really fitting well with all of our lineups right now. O-Line is really happy with the schemes we have, so we’re moving in the right direction.”
