According to Football Insider, Daniel Kelly has reportedly turned down an offer from Tottenham this summer. The Celtic teenager has opted to move to a Championship team despite numerous offers from Premier League and foreign clubs as he is not taking his career that seriously.
Daniel Kelly rejects Tottenham’s actions
Tottenham have been active in the market for young talent this summer as they have their development project firmly in mind for the future. Their main focus has been to acquire promising talent on the fringes of the first team rather than for their academy teams, which is why they previously signed Archie Gray from Leeds United.
Mikey Moore is another example of who they could develop and bring into the first team this season, albeit not as a regular. Moore signed his professional contract here, and before that Spurs had to fend off prominent suitors.
According to the report, Daniel Kelly was also spotted by Celtic and an offer was made to the club. The 18-year-old midfielder rejected Spurs’ offer and chose a different route to achieve his career goals. Celtic offered him a new four-year contract, but the teenage midfielder wanted assurances of playing time that Brendan Rodgers’ side could not offer.
Tottenham were not the only Premier League club chasing Kelly. Other clubs, including clubs from Germany, also had offers. Rather than being seduced by the idea of top-level football in England, he has opted to move to Championship club Millwall, where he may have enough guarantees to play regularly. The 18-year-old midfielder has signed a pre-contract there and will join them in January 2025.

Tottenham wanted a new striker this summer and have since agreed a deal with Bournemouth to sign Dominic SolankeThey had also considered Ivan Toney but opted for the former Cherries player as he seemed to fit their style better and could be seen as a long-term replacement for Harry Kane, who left last summer.
They have also sold Emerson Royal to AC Milan as their search for a replacement at right-back is ongoing. Monaco’s Vanderson is a target for the North Londoners, but there are no concrete offers yet for the Brazilian, who is valued at 40 million euros.
