Renegade Racing Clarksville driver sets drag race world records

CLARKSVILLE, TN – Thomas West and his Renegade Racing Clarksville crew competed in the Wisconsin Outlaw Stick Shift Challenge last weekend at the Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, Wisconsin. The event featured the fastest manual transmission race cars in the world – many of them world record holders – and it was no challenge for Thomas and his crew.

During the race, Thomas set a world record, set not once but twice, with the fastest H-shaped S2000 in the world. Thomas ran the quarter mile in 7.90 at 184.08 mph and then in 7.58 at 190 mph. Unfortunately, on the way to the semifinals, Thomas caught a rivet in the burnout box, causing a tire blowout and ending his race early. Although this was an unfortunate way to exit, great accomplishments were made during this race. Thomas West’s LS-powered S2000 is officially known as the fastest H-shaped manual transmission S2000 in the world.

This is not the end for Thomas and his crew. Their next goal is to advance into the 6s. Follow their journey to future record moments at @stickshiftracing on all social media platforms.

Renegade Racing and Performance will open a new facility in Clarksville in 2025. The facility is currently under construction at Guthrie Highway and Hampton Station Road. The new location will not only be the headquarters of the race team, but will continue to attract other teams from across the country to do their work there.
