Chronology of the fatal ambush on the Lake County deputy sheriff
On Friday, August 2, officers in Lake County, Florida were ambushed by a family after responding to reports that a woman was attacking her neighbors in their yard. The woman, Julie Ann Sulpizio, now faces multiple counts of murder after the incident left one officer dead, two others injured, and her husband and two daughters killed.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis ordered flags to fly at half-staff Saturday in honor of Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy Bradley Link, who was shot and killed in the line of duty while calling in a disturbance at a home in Eustis.
DeSantis said flags at the Lake County Courthouse and City Hall in Clermont would fly at half-staff from sunrise to sunset in honor of Deputy Link.

“On August 2, 2024, Master Deputy Sheriff Bradley Link, age 28, was shot and killed in the line of duty. He leaves behind his beloved wife and parents,” Governor DeSantis wrote in his memo.
“Prior to joining the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, he served with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office for two years. Link was also a veteran of the United States Army Reserves. His career exemplified his unwavering commitment to service. Link demonstrated bravery and courage in his efforts to protect his community and will be remembered for his sacrifice.”
