How to get a student subscription to Apple Music
If you’re currently subscribed to Apple Music, here’s how to change your subscription. If you’re a new subscriber, follow the steps below.
- Open the Apple Music app or iTunes for Windows.
- Go to “Listen Now”.
- Choose the trial offer (one trial per person; you must be a new subscriber to receive the trial offer).
- Select Student.
- Select “Check Permissions”.
- Follow the on-screen steps to confirm your student status.
- After your student status is verified, follow the on-screen steps to start a free trial and purchase a student subscription using your Apple ID.
Note from MacDailyNews: To continue your student subscription, you must re-verify that you are a student once a year. You can re-verify your student status in the Apple Music app or iTunes for Windows. You can also re-verify in the Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
Reconfirm your student status in the Apple Music app or iTunes for Windows.
- Open the Apple Music app or iTunes for Windows.
- If you see a message asking you to confirm your student status, select Confirm Eligibility or Confirm Student Status. Need help?
- Follow the on-screen steps to confirm your student status.
- If the verification is successful, you will automatically be returned to the Apple Music app or iTunes and continue your Apple Music student subscription.

2. Tap Apple Music.
3. Tap Confirm Student Status Need help?
4. Follow the on-screen steps to confirm that you are a student.
