Due to overnight showers and midday rain reaching Spoon River Speedway and weather models predicting further inclement weather, World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Model and track officials have cancelled Thursday’s racing program.

The decision was made after working closely with Precision Weather Service and taking into consideration the safety of the drivers and traveling racing fans. The series plans to return to the Lewistown, Illinois, race track in 2025. The date will be announced at a later date.

The World of Outlaws CASE Late Models now turns its attention to the final race weekend of 2024 in Iowa for the Hawkeye 100 at Maquoketa Speedway on Friday and Saturday, August 16-17.

In addition to the racing on the track at Maquoketa, there will also be off-track activities for fans on Saturday, including a car show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a kids’ zone from noon to 4 p.m., the Hoker Trucking Toys for Tots fundraiser, a driver autograph session at 4:30 p.m. and a cornhole tournament starting at 12:30 p.m.

Driver Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, IL, leads the series standings by 46 points over driver Nick Hoffman of Mooresville, NC. Driver Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, IL, is in third place, 72 points back.
