After Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone once again broke her own world record in the 400-meter hurdles and left the 2024 Olympic Games with her latest gold medal, she received a tiara from the stands during her celebration.
According to the Associated Press, her sister-in-law brought it to the New Jersey native and it became a fitting accessory for what followed, as McLaughlin-Levrone walked around with an American flag around her shoulders and the tiara on her head.

It wasn’t exactly a new scene.
She also left Tokyo with a gold medal in this discipline three years ago.
Her name has been at, or near, the top of the sport for nearly a decade, even though she only celebrated her 25th birthday on Wednesday.
And McLaughlin-Levrone will fly back from Paris with another victory after a dominant win and a time of 50.37 seconds – more than a second ahead of Anna Cockrell of Team USA, who took silver.
“I just hoped it would be a race worthy of holding (the tiara),” McLaughlin-Levrone told reporters.
McLaughlin-Levrone continued her winning streak over the hurdles that had begun in the qualifying heats, and it all culminated in the deciding race of the event when she pulled away.
In June, she also broke her own world record at the US Olympic qualifiers with a time of 50.65, although it only lasted until Thursday.
