PS Plus has seen plenty of day one releases, but not many are as highly anticipated as this one. Subscribers can get their hands on a long-awaited game published by Devolver Digital when it launches next month.
Which game will be available on PS Plus Extra and Premium at launch?
The wait will soon be over. Developer All Possible Futures and publisher Devolver Digital have The brave squire will be released on September 17, 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC. On the PlayStation Blog, the developer announced that its highly anticipated adventure will be available at launch for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers.
To celebrate the release date of The Plucky Squire, a new trailer has been released. It shows the game’s hero, Jot, as he transitions from a storybook into the real world. The trailer shows off combat and how Jot’s movements translate in both 2D and 3D spaces.
“In The Plucky Squire, Jot can leap from the pages of his fairy tale world into a three-dimensional world beyond,” says co-creative director James Turner on the PlayStation Blog. “But wherever he travels, danger lurks – be it a terrifyingly large insect in the 3D world or one of the cruel wizard Humpgrump’s monstrous minions in the storybook. Thankfully, a friendly shopkeeper named Martina is there to help him.”
The Plucky Squire was originally revealed at the 2022 Devolver Digital Showcase. It was originally scheduled to release in 2023, but was delayed. This year’s Devolver Direct did not feature The Plucky Squire, but the publisher assured viewers that more information about the action game would follow.
Although The Plucky Squire isn’t coming to PS Plus for another month, more popular games are coming to Sony’s subscription service in just a few days. On August 20, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers will have access to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Cult of the Lamb, TimeSplitters, a number of Sword Art Online games, and more.
The Plucky Squire will be released on September 17, 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
