Greene County Sheriff’s Office employee charged with sexual misconduct at Springfield discount store

Arnott’s office said Snow resigned from his post with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, three days after an alleged incident at a Dollar Tree store in Springfield.

Court records from the Greene County District Attorney’s Office show that Snow is accused of following an unknown woman through the Dollar Tree with her genitals exposed.

Springfield 911 emergency call records show a call about a “public nuisance” was made to a Dollar Tree on East Sunshine Street at 2:01 p.m. Saturday.

According to a press release, Snow told the sheriff’s office that the incident was a “misunderstanding.”

On Wednesday, Snow was charged with first-degree sexual abuse, a Class B misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in prison or a fine of up to $1,000.

Prosecutors wrote that the defendant’s position as a police officer made the crime he was charged with “more serious” than a typical charge.

The sheriff’s office says Snow refused to cooperate with the administrative investigation and has been suspended. They say they reported Snow to Springfield police and instructed him to cooperate with the police investigation. A spokesperson for the Springfield Police Department told KSMU on Thursday the investigation is “ongoing.”

Bail was set at $1,000 and according to online records, Snow appears to have been released from the Greene County Jail following his arrest on Wednesday.

No attorney was listed for Snow in Missouri court records as of Thursday afternoon.
