MAPLE GROVE, MN — The body of a 17-year-old “runaway” was found Wednesday in a wooded area of ​​Maple Grove, police said.

Nathaniel Chambers was last seen on the evening of August 11 leaving his home in the 7000 block of Carey Lane in Maple Grove.

On August 14, at approximately 2 p.m., officers responded to a report that a person had been found dead in a wooded area in the 7200 block of Teakwood Lane.

“Investigators are in contact with Nathaniel Chambers’ family as they believe this case is related to the missing 17-year-old who lived in the area,” Maple Grove police said in a statement.

“Our thoughts are with the family during this tragic time.”

The Hennepin County Coroner’s Office will release the person’s official identity and cause of death.

There is no evidence of criminal activity and there is no cause for concern regarding the safety of the community, police said.
