Staten Island begins the 2024 Little League World Series today. Find the schedule and information on how to watch here.

NEW YORK — Staten Island South Shore Little League team will play its first game of the 2024 Little League World Series on Thursday.

Staten Island will face the Paseo Verde Little League team from Henderson, Nevada in the Metro Region vs. Mountain Region game. The game will begin at 3 p.m. in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Staten Island’s Little League World Series Schedule

The 2024 Little League World Series began at 1 p.m. on Wednesday and included 20 teams from ten U.S. regions and ten international regions.

If Staten Island wins its first game on Thursday, their next game would be Monday, August 19. A loss would see them drop to the elimination side of the bracket and play again on Saturday, August 17.

If they make it to the final, the final will take place on August 25th.

Wednesday, August 14

  • Caribbean vs. Mexico, 1pm
  • New England vs. West, 3 p.m.
  • Asia-Pacific vs. Canada, 5pm
  • Southeast vs Midwest, 7 p.m.

Thursday, August 15

  • Japan – Puerto Rico, 1pm
  • Metro vs. Mountain, 3pm
  • Cuba vs. Europe-Africa, 5 p.m.
  • Southwest vs. Mid-Atlantic, 7 p.m.

Friday, August 16

  • Winner Game 1 against Latin America, 1pm
  • Winner of Game 2 against Great Lakes, 3:00 p.m.
  • Winner Game 3 against Australia, 17:00
  • Winner of Game 4 against Northwest, 7 p.m.

How to watch Staten Island in the Little League World Series

If you’re watching in person, admission is free at both Howard J. Lamade Stadium and Volunteer Stadium. Seating is first-come, first-served and no ticket is required, except for a section behind home plate.

Tickets are required on championship weekend, but are typically reserved for league volunteers and special guests, although seating is available on the hilltop terrace above the outfield.

If you want to cheer on Staten Island here at home, Borough President Vito Fossella host a free watch party Kicks off at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Fast Break Basketball Facility on Richmond Valley Road in Tottenville.

Little League World Series games will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC.

Staten Island proud of South Shore Little League team

This is the South Shore Little League team’s fourth appearance in the Little League World Series.

Staten Island improved to 17-2 this summer and defeated the Morristown Little League team 5-0 to advance to the tournament.

“This is a home run for South Shore Little League! They are on their way to the Little League World Series and we are all rooting for them.” Mayor Eric Adams wrote on X when they won.

“Continue making great memories and making Staten Island proud. We are all with you,” the borough president wrote on Facebook.
