Kelly Brook has slammed her husband Jeremy Parisi, claiming he made her an unhappy wife by booking a “cheap hotel” in scenes aired on Celebrity Race Across The World.

The 44-year-old glamour model teamed up with her 39-year-old Italian husband to compete against three celebrity friends in a race across South America in the new season of the BBC show, which returned on Wednesday.

As the couple endures scorching heat and harsh conditions to reach each checkpoint, tensions between the two seem to simmer and Kelly snaps at her husband.

In a teaser for the next episode, the two appear in the middle of an argument as the challenge takes its toll, with Kelly snapping, “You’ve got a nice, cheap room but an unhappy wife, so well done!”

In another scene, the TV star moaned: “Aargh, this is going to be brutal!” as she and her partner embarked on the next leg of their journey in very wet weather.

As she speaks to the camera, Kelly adds in a confessional: “You’re going to take off your armor and you’re going to be completely naked.”

It remains to be seen whether the couple can resolve their differences when the show returns to screens.

Kelly recently recalled in a new interview that the trip was the “honeymoon from hell” as she reflected on the challenge.

The beauty tied the knot in July 2022 in a romantic ceremony in Jeremy’s native Italy, but the couple did not have a honeymoon booked.

After mistakenly believing the arduous 12,500km journey through South America was an alternative honeymoon, Kelly told Closer magazine: “We haven’t had a honeymoon before and I said to Jeremy we should think of this as a fun alternative, once in a lifetime experience. Sometimes they were the honeymoon from hell – sometimes they were just glorious. They have to be the most unforgettable honeymoons ever!”

She described in detail how the trip helped them understand the dynamics of their relationship, continuing, “I didn’t realize how ambitious he was, like, insanely ambitious. For me, it’s much more about the experience.”

“I think I got on his nerves because he was full steam ahead. If Jeremy had done the race alone, he would have done it in a week. I slowed him down a bit and said let’s have a Brazilian barbecue one day or go to the beach.”

She added that she was “grumpy at times” during the trip because they didn’t know where they would sleep the next night, but she was surprised by how “strong” she was physically.

Meanwhile, Kelly left viewers stunned after the first episode of the show when she revealed her real name.

During the episode, Kelly surprised her fans as she and Jeremy planned their next move after reaching the first checkpoint in Brazil and revealed that Brook was not her real name.

The Heart FM presenter was born Kelly Anne Parsons but adopted the surname Brook when she started her modelling career.

She added that although she was known by that name, it was never entered in her passport.

She said: “My happy place is my garden, in wellies, no make-up and with my hair up. When I think about how I was like a pin-up and making calendars, it’s all just an illusion, like that’s not who I am at all.”

“Kelly Brook doesn’t actually exist, it’s not even a real name, it wasn’t even on my passport or anything. In my mind I’m Mrs. Parisi, Jeremy’s wife.”

This revelation left some viewers stunned, and she sent the following message to X: “Kelly Brook is not her real name!!!”

The second season of the show’s celebrity spin-off will feature the stars of Ted Lasso and famous TV presenters struggling to reach their ultimate goal without the help of phones or money.

Ted Lasso’s Kola Bokinni and his cousin Mary Ellen compete against Television presenter and broadcaster Jeff Brazier and his son Freddy, 20, along with Kelly, Jeremy and Radio 2 DJ Scott Mills and his now husband Sam Vaughan.

With a budget of just over £1,000, their journey begins in Belém in northern Brazil – the gateway to the Amazon – and takes them through five checkpoints across South America.

They will do everything they can to reach the finish line in the Andes, Frutillar in southern Chile.

In the final review of the new series in the Daily Mail, Christopher Stevens welcomed the show’s return, joking that it was “a response to Britain’s overcrowding crisis”.

Elsewhere in the episode, Jeff stormed off after he and his son Freddie had a very tense exchange just hours into their month-long trip.

The TV presenter was furious when the 19-year-old claimed that the family was not talking openly to each other and that was why he was “keeping quiet”.

Freddie didn’t want to tell his dad that he wanted to eat something from the cafe, so Jeff tried to calm him down by assuring him that their budget was for sharing.

Say, “There’s no need to do things in secret. It just makes life easier for us as a family if we’re all honest.”

Freddie interjected: “I don’t think we’re open at all as a family. I keep my mouth shut because I feel like everyone else does too.”

Jeff angrily asked, “Is this a joke? Freddie, don’t be unfair, what have I been doing for the last seven or eight years?”

“Talk,” Freddie replied, smiling seemingly nervously.

Jeff snapped, “Okay, don’t tell me I don’t. Take responsibility, that’s part of it!” before storming off, leaving his son alone at the table.

Jeff shares Freddie and Bobby, 21, with the late Big Brother legend Jade Goody, who died in 2009 at the age of 27 following a battle with cervical cancer.

And at the beginning of the episode, he revealed that he signed up for the show to help his youngest son develop “a stronger sense of self.”

He revealed that Freddie was still alive, and although it was “sweet,” Jeff said he would need an “exit plan” soon, and Freddie admitted, “I still need my dad.”

In a candid moment, Jeff then said to the camera: “I saw my son struggle. I know he needs more determination, self-esteem and confidence.”

He added: “With something like (Celebrity Race Across The World) we obviously grab it with both hands.”
