Warning: This article contains descriptions of shootings and murders that some readers may find disturbing.

Family dispute Candidate Timothy Bliefnick gave a shocking answer about his wife before he was later convicted of her murder.

In an episode of the daytime game show that aired in January 2020, a contestant stepped onto the podium in front of host Steve Harvey to compete for one or two prizes.

While the show frequently went viral due to a variety of offensive or “censored” moments, Bliefnick’s response to one of Harvey’s questions is particularly chilling, given that he was later sentenced to life in prison in connection with his wife’s murder.

Prepare for goosebumps on your arms:

When Bliefnick appeared on the show, Harvey asked the question, “What was the biggest mistake you made at your wedding?”

After Bliefnick’s fellow contestants gave their answers, Harvey turned to Bliefnick, who said, “Honey, I love you, but I said yes.”

The answer was met with loud groans from the audience before Bliefnick added: “Not my fault, not my fault – I love my wife.”

Just three years later, Bliefnick’s wife and mother of his three children, Rebecca Postle Bliefnick, was killed in a burglary.

Timothy Bliefnick was sentenced to life in prison for burglary and murder.

Quincy Police Department

Bliefnick was arrested in March 2023 on charges of burglary and first-degree murder and was found guilty at his trial in May and sentenced to life in prison.

According to prosecutors, Bliefnick researched on Google how to murder his estranged wife. Among other things, he found out how to use a crowbar to break open a window and how quickly the police usually respond to a 911 call about such a crime.

In sentencing the convicted murderer, Judge Robert Adrian said, according to Fox News: “Mr. Bliefnick, you researched this murder. You planned this murder. You practiced this murder. You broke into her house and shot her one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, 13 and 14 times.”

“I don’t know how long it took you to do this, but some of those shots were fired while she was on the floor, and you did all of this while your children were comfortably in their beds upstairs in your house.”

Rebecca Bliefnick has three sons with her estranged husband.

The victim was found dead by her father, William Postle, on the bathroom floor of their home in Quincy, Illinois, a small town near the Missouri border.

The former couple, who married in 2009, were in the process of divorcing, according to court documents.

Rebecca, who worked as a nurse, filed for a protective order against her husband in 2021, according to additional documents filed in Adams County.

Bliefnick later reflected on the comment he made to Family dispute in an episode of CBS’ 48 hours.

While he insisted he “did not murder” his wife, he said, “It was not malicious or meant to be malicious. It was meant to be funny.”
