Nebraska’s football game against Colorado was declared the best non-conference game

Although conference realignment has changed or eliminated several inter-conference rivalries, there are still some notable non-conference games coming up in 2024. Y! Sports’ Ian Casselberry took a look at the top 10 non-conference games of the season, and Nebraska made the list.

The Huskers’ Sept. 7 game against the Colorado Buffaloes was named one of the top 10 nonconference games of the 2024 season. It will be the 73rd meeting between the two teams, with Colorado entering Memorial Stadium on a three-game winning streak.

Last season, Nebraska lost to Colorado 36-14 in the second game of the season. Nebraska leads the all-time series with a record of 49-21-2.

The Cornhuskers also hold the series record for the longest winning streak with 18 consecutive victories from 1968 to 1985. They also have the biggest win streak with 59-0 in 1981.

Nebraska and Colorado will meet again on September 7 in Lincoln, Nebraska. The game begins at 6:30 p.m. CT and can be seen on NBC.
