Guests can look forward to another winter season full of unique experiences at Whistler Blackcomb, as well as new Mobile Pass technology that allows guests to hit the slopes via their phone.

WHISTLER, BC, 14 August 2024 /CNW/ — Whistler Blackcomb will open its two mountains to skiers and snowboarders on Friday, 22 November for the 2024/25 winter season, conditions permitting. The resort looks forward to offering guests from the Sea to Ski Corridor, Lower Mainland, another season of unparalleled mountain adventure Canada and around the world. Guests planning to visit Whistler Blackcomb can secure the best deals and experiences by purchasing the pass that best suits them – from daily to seasonal access – before prices rise 2 September.

This season newly modernized Jersey Cream Express chairlift will make his highly anticipated debut. This new high-speed 6-person chairlift follows last season’s upgrade of the Fitzsimmons Express and will significantly improve lift capacity and efficiency, getting guests to the snow faster in Blackcomb Mountain’s Glacier Creek Zone. It is one of several lift upgrades that Whistler Blackcomb has invested in over the past few years, demonstrating the resort’s ongoing investment in the guest experience.

Whistler Blackcomb is also pleased to host Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 8 to 16 FebruaryThe event will bring together over 500 competitors from over 20 nations to compete in disability sports in this first winter edition and will include Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding. In addition, guests can look forward to the return of annual favorites including: the World Ski and Snowboard Festival, weekly Fire & Ice Shows in Whistler VillageWhistler Pride and Ski Festival, the 39th Annual Peak to Valley Race, Whistler Cup and Creekside Classic.

Here is our checklist for guests to prepare for the coming season:

Skiers and snowboarders have until 2 September to purchase a pass before prices rise. Passes offer significant pre-season savings compared to lift ticket prices, and whether you want to ski or snowboard at Whistler Blackcomb for just one day or the entire season, there’s a pass option for everyone.

    • Whistler Blackcomb EDGE Map offers exclusive discounts for Canadian and State of Washington Residents with access to Whistler Blackcomb for only $81 CAD per day. Choose between 2, 5 or 10 days in Whistler Blackcomb.

    • Epic Pass ($1,004USD) offers the best in skiing and snowboarding with unlimited, unrestricted access to Whistler Blackcomb as well as access to Fernie Alpine Resort, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, Kimberley Alpine Resort and Hakuba Valley (Japan). With additional resorts in the USA, Europe And AustraliaThe Epic Pass provides access to more than 80 resorts worldwide.

    • Whistler Blackcomb Day Pass offers skiers and snowboarders the opportunity to build their own pass – you can choose 1 to 10 days throughout the season to ski and snowboard at Whistler Blackcomb for just $93 CAD per day. The Whistler Blackcomb Day Pass offers guests who purchase ahead of the season savings of up to 65% compared to lift tickets. Plus, you have the flexibility to choose the days to ski or snowboard throughout the season and it does not have to be used on consecutive days.

    • Special passes are available, including the Whistler Blackcomb Student Pass (740 CAD), Adaptive Passes ($492USD) and passports honouring the Canadian Armed Forces, including active and retired military personnel and their dependents ($177USD) and veterans and their families ($573USD).

Epic Passes also allow you to save on other aspects of the Whistler Blackcomb experience. Epic Pass holders receive 20% off on-mountain food and beverage, lodging, group lessons at ski and snowboard schools, equipment rentals and more. Whistler Blackcomb EDGE Cards include exclusive perks such as discounts on lodging, shopping, group lessons and camps.

Travelers no longer have to buy and transport their equipment to and from Whistler Blackcomb, with the introduction of My epic equipmenta unique membership that combines the luxury of owning high-quality equipment with the convenience of premium valet parking. Members get access to more than 60 of the latest ski and snowboard models from 13 leading brands. The entire membership experience, from equipment selection to free daily pickup and drop-off at the slopes, is available in the My Epic app.

Memberships are limited for the 2024/25 winter season and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. My Epic Gear is now available for the whole family (ages 3 and up) at Whistler Blackcomb as well as other resorts including Vail Mountain, Park City Mountain, Beaver Creek, BreckenridgeKeystone, Heavenly, Northstar and Stowe. Memberships cost 50 USD for the 2024/25 season with a 55 USD Daily use fee for adults and 45 USD for children (3-12).

New hands-free Mobile Pass and Mobile Lift Ticket technology will be introduced at the resort for the 2024/25 ski and snowboard season in the My Epic app. This innovation will allow guests to skip the ticket booth and purchase their pass (or lift ticket) online, then activate and store it in the My Epic app, and upon arrival, they can be scanned hands-free directly from their pocket via low-power Bluetooth. ® Low energy consumption technology. With this enhancement, the My Epic app provides Whistler Blackcomb guests with a centralized app that provides lift access, real-time resort updates, personalized stats, account information and more.

To ensure a smooth transition, Whistler Blackcomb will continue to provide and activate physical cards for passes and lift tickets as requested during the 2024/25 season, and will be available to all guests who are unable or unwilling to use their phone.

This season, guests will again have a variety of on-mountain dining options available, including more diverse menus at quick-service restaurants. The Horstman Hut is making a comeback this winter, where guests can enjoy a European selection of sausages, sauerkraut, pretzels and mustard. Whistler Blackcomb is proud to continue to offer specialties such as the famous fully loaded buttermilk waffles at the Crystal Hut, and upscale experiences at Steeps Grill and Wine Bar and the newly renovated Hotel Corona at the Roundhouse. As always, Christine’s will serve world-class fine dining with breathtaking views at Rendezvous. Also returning this season will be regionally inspired Indigenous dishes, created in collaboration with the culinary team at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, which will be served at Merlin’s (at the base of Blackcomb) and the newly renovated Raven’s (at the top of Creekside Gondola).

Skiers and snowboarders who purchase an Epic Pass now will receive early access to Vail Resorts’ Winter Getaway Sale, which offers discounted nightly rates at mountain resort hotels and condos like Legends at Creekside for a limited time. Epic Mountain Rewards allows passholders to save up to 35% on room rates. Passholders can book preferred accommodations starting 8/22 by logging into their Epic Pass account and selecting the sale. Public access will be available online 8/27-9/3.
