Warhammer 40K racing game “Speed Freeks” is free to play and includes DLSS support

As part of NVIDIA’s weekly DLSS announcements, covering the latest PC games and releases that support the groundbreaking GeForce RTX technology, there was the surprise addition of a game I didn’t even know could exist: racing in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks is playable now. The free-to-play “adrenaline-fueled combat racing game” launches in Early Access with support for DLSS Super Resolution Upscaling to improve performance on all GeForce RTX graphics cards. The good news is that the game is currently receiving a “mostly positive” user rating on Steam, with many praising the game for its classic arcade fun.

And the description of the game is perfect: “In the 41st millennium, a cult of crazed, speed-obsessed and racing-addicted Orks have come together to engage in wild and breakneck races during the rare lulls between open warfare.”

As it’s a free-to-play game with car customization, there is monetization for cosmetic items. However, the game doesn’t seem to force microtransactions on players – and there’s plenty of free racing content to experience.

The other notable DLSS launch this week is multiplayer extraction horror shooter Level Zero: Extraction, which looks fantastic in its gameplay reveal trailer.

Like Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks, this is an Early Access debut, but unlike the Ork racing game, reviews of Level Zero: Extraction are “mixed.” Some players say it feels half-hearted and lackluster, while others love the graphics and sci-fi horror atmosphere.

On the positive side, it has entered Early Access with DLSS 3 and Frame Generation support.
