10-year-old who sang at Dolphins game says singer inspires her

We hear it before every sporting event.

And many dream of singing in front of thousands.

“Oh, it was a dream come true. It was so cool. A check mark on my agenda.”

Cheyenne Morris from Wellington is 10 years old. And she owes her singing ambitions to Olivia Rodrigo.

“Their emotions, their heartbreak, touch me and I think to myself, ‘I really love this.’ It kind of made me wonder what I could do with it,” she told WPTV.

Morris is talented. But it’s not just her singing.

She is quite an athlete in flag football.

Her mother and father couldn’t be happier, knowing that whatever path she chooses, it will be one of fame and glory.

“I love watching her do what she loves to do,” said her mother, Cameron Morris. “Whether it’s singing, football or both. Maybe one day she’ll get a scholarship and be able to play flag football for a while. Maybe she could use singing and make a career out of it one day.”

Her father and coach Chris Morris knows the path forward is unclear, but is excited about what’s to come.

“It’s pretty cool to watch her compete and enjoy the moment,” he said. “That’s great for a 10-year-old. If she moves on to soccer or singing, I’m sure she’ll be ready when that moment comes.”
