Celebrity Race Across the World fans are confused by Kelly Brook’s strategy

Spoilers for “Celebrity Race Across the World” follow.

In the second season of Celebrity Race Across the World, the participants travel through South America – but one couple didn’t seem to realize that it was a race.

This year’s lineup includes TV icon Kelly Brook and her husband Jeremy Parisi, Kola Bokinni from Ted Lasso and his cousin Mary Ellen, TV presenter Jeff Brazier and his son Freddie, and BBC Radio 2 presenter Scott Mills and his husband Sam Vaughan.

As the reality TV show returned for its second season on BBC One tonight (August 14), viewers were left confused by Kelly’s decision to take it slow and enjoy the ride, even though her strategy worked in the end.

The teams started the first leg of the journey in Belem, Brazil and drove to the Canoa Quebrada checkpoint, which is located in another Brazilian state. Their final destination is Frutillar in Chile.

Although Jeremy insisted that they go inland, Kelly chose to spend almost the entire first 24 hours closer to the coast in Bragança, where they helped plant mangroves in exchange for a room.

While the other teams advanced to the checkpoint, the couple stayed behind.

“If we keep going like this, it will take us 200 days,” Jeremy told Kelly, urging her to pick up the pace.

Some fans at home sided with Jeremy, with one writing on Twitter/X: “I love Race Across The World. I fear for Kelly’s wish for a romantic getaway and sightseeing.”

“I don’t think Kelly Brook has ever seen ‘Race Across the World’,” was another comment.

Kelly gave in to Jeremy’s pleas and agreed to take a 14-hour overnight bus to Teresina, which would take them closer to the checkpoint. Surprisingly, the two were the first to reach Canoa Quebrada, cheering in disbelief.

“We accepted that we were last,” Kelly said.

The pair were followed by Scott and Sam in second place, Jeff and Freddie in third place, while Kola and Mary Ellen came last.

Celebrity Race Across the World airs on BBC One.
