As we reported yesterday, Harry Potter fans were shocked when author JK Rowling announced over the weekend that she regretted ending the wizarding series so that Hermione Granger could marry Ron Weasley.
Speaking to Wonderland Magazine, the author said: “I wrote the relationship between Hermione and Ron as a kind of wish fulfillment. That’s actually how it was intended.”
“For reasons that have very little to do with literature and much to do with sticking to the plot as I had originally imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron.”

We asked EntertainmentWise readers in our poll yesterday to share their opinions and decide whether Hermione should have ended up with Ron or Harry!
Unsurprisingly, Harry and Hermione received 61% of the vote, suggesting that you agree with JK and think the pair are better suited to each other than Granger and Ron.

Throughout the Harry Potter saga, Weasley was paranoid, believing that his secret love Hermione might be interested in his famous best friend. And it looks like his fears were justified, because even the author of the series thinks that Harry and Hermione should have been together in the end!

JK Rowling said: “I know I’m sorry, I can hear the anger and rage this may provoke in some fans, but if I’m completely honest, distance has given me a different perspective.
“I made this decision for very personal reasons, not for reasons of credibility. Will I break people’s hearts if I say this? I hope not.”
