The Esports World Cup combines gaming and mainstream entertainment with a live music event each week of the tournament.

Several parties have been announced, one for each week of EWC, and it will all culminate with the closing ceremony starting at 7pm local time on August 27. This helps cement esports as part of mainstream entertainment and move it out of its previous niche status.

We take a look at the music events that have already ended and those that are still to come!

Events during the Esports World Championship

Over 20 local, regional and international artists have visited or are planning to visit the esports hub of the world: Riyadh, to offer gaming fans a special live performance. These events are known as “AFT_r” and are spread across 7 events during the 8 weeks of esports action.

  • Week 1: Thursday, July 4 – Aly Fathalla, Ckay, El Grande Toto and Nooriyah
  • Week 2: Thursday, July 11 – Wiz Khalifa, R3HAB and NileBoi
  • Week 3: Friday, July 19 – DJ Snake, Gunna and Blacky
  • Week 4: Thursday, July 25 – G-Eazy, Sebastian Ingrosso and Shaolin
  • Week 5: Thursday, August 1 – Alesso, Don Toliver and Shancoty
  • Week 6: Thursday, August 8 – Jack Harlow, Salvatore Ganacci and Sharkk
  • Week 7: Thursday, August 15 – Afrojack and Cosmicat

Esports Closing Ceremony

Of course, the eighth and final week will be marked by the closing ceremony of the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024, which promises to be an unforgettable night.

It all starts with putting the winning team’s name on the EWC trophy and forever in esports history. We’ll also take a look at the winning players from the entire event, highlighting their determination, skill and of course the decisive moments.

This will be followed by an immersive event for fans watching in person and from home, featuring a highly anticipated performance by Steve Aoki, taking to the stage live from The Venue in Riyadh.

Whether you’re a gaming fanatic or prefer the thrill of live music shows, the Esports World Cup is a truly unique experience that seems to combine multiple forms of entertainment.
