Josh Newton reacts to his first NFL game and his interception

Football is back, baby!

The Cincinnati Bengals were in action on Saturday night for their first preseason game of 2024, hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Joe Burrow and the offensive starters stormed the field and killed the Bengals’ opening drive. It was great to watch!

The defense showed flashes of talent and numerous players earned more playing time and potential spots on the 53-man roster. One of the standout players was TCU rookie Josh Newton.

Newton intercepted a pass in his first NFL game, which must have been an incredible feeling for the Bengals rookie.

After the game, Newton shared his thoughts on his first night as a pro and it was nothing short of top notch.

Newton thanked the Bengals veterans for their loud presence on the sidelines and the Bengals fans who filled Paycor Stadium.

“We had some good performances and some things to learn from. We’ll all come in on Monday to watch the video, improve and move on from there,” Newton said when asked how everyone looked in their first real reps of the year.

If you watch to the end of the video, Newton even shakes Petraglia’s hand after the interview to show his appreciation.

It’s hard not to like this guy! Great performance.
