PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra subscribers can look forward to 15 games as part of the August update to the games catalog for PS5 and PS4, but this month there’s a surprise. Usually the new arrivals are a diverse mix of games from different developers, but August revolves around two franchises: Sword Art Online and TimeSplitters. Free Radical Design’s popular trilogy of time-traveling first-person shooters and a whopping five Sword Art Online games are made available to players, and the rest of the lineup has a few gems to try out too.

When it comes to cults and violence, Cult of the Lamb is an adorably gruesome game that sees you rally followers to kill dark gods, and Monster Hunter fans won’t want to miss Omega Force’s fun hunting game Wild Hearts. For those of you who’d love to go for a spin on motorbikes without worrying about tasting tarmac, Ride 5 is also available this month. As a reminder, all PS Plus subscribers can also grab this month’s free games, with Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach and Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights available until September 2.
