See how downtown Evansville has changed over the years

I find it fascinating to look back at how things used to be. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad I live in the present day. It’s pretty convenient that we can get any question answered in seconds or order virtually anything we want or need and have it delivered to our doorstep. But it’s also fun to see how things have evolved around us. As an Evansville native who has spent a fair amount of time in downtown Evansville (that’s where the station is), I’ve always appreciated the older architecture of the buildings in the area. So I dug into the Willard Library Archives to see what some of these areas look like now compared to back then. Some have changed a little, some quite a lot, and some don’t even exist anymore. Check it out.
