Here’s how long you have to grab the Vail Resorts Epic Pass before the price goes up

It may still feel like the dog days of summer, but Vail Resorts is making sure skiers are ready to hit the slopes thanks to its famous Epic Pass.

The pass, which offers unlimited access to more than 40 different mountain resorts, including several international destinations, currently costs $1,004 but will increase in price starting September 2.

In addition to the unlimited Epic Pass, Vail offers several other passes, including the Epic Local Pass, which offers unlimited access to 29 resorts for $746, and the Epic Day Pass, which ranges in price from $44 to $95 per day.

As a bonus, Epic Pass holders get early access to Vail Resorts’ Winter Getaway Sale, which offers up to 35 percent off hotels and vacation rentals. The sale begins August 22 for Epic Pass holders and runs August 27 through September 3 for non-pass holders.

“There’s never been a better time to be an Epic Pass holder,” Danielle Johnson, senior director, brand communications & global media relations at Vail Resorts, told T+L. “Our passes offer best-in-class benefits at an incredible value so our skiers and snowboarders can make the most of their winter season.”

While opening dates depend on weather conditions, Keystone Resort in Colorado is expected to be the first resort to open and welcome skiers and snowboarders as early as mid-October, Vail confirmed to Travel + LeisureOther resorts in Colorado will follow suit: Breckenridge on November 8 and Vail Mountain on November 15.

On November 22, the company will then open the slopes at Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia, Heavenly and Northstar in California, and Park City Mountain in Utah. Beaver Creek and Crested Butte in Colorado will follow on November 27, and Kirkwood in California and Stevens Pass in Washington on December 6.
