The tributes to Robbie Robertson continue. Following the announcement of a one-day event honoring the band’s legendary frontman and primary songwriter at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, Life is a Carnival: A Musical Celebration of Robbie Robertson, on Thursday, October 17, Blackbird Presents has expanded its scope of musical celebrations with a full-fledged tour that includes an all-star lineup of select musicians, some of whom are already included on the first night of remembrance.

This tour pays tribute to the band’s historic 1976 Thanksgiving concert held at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom. It returns to the Bay, kicking off at the Warfield on October 19. The extensive tour, which runs through mid-November, features an all-star lineup of musicians including Jamey Johnson, Lukas Nelson, Ryan Bingham, Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, Don Was, John Medeski, Cyril Neville, Dave Malone, Terrence Higgins and Mark Mullins.

With an expensive troupe of talent in tow, the tour resumes on October 22 at the Revolution Concert House and Event Center in Boise, marking a change of venue as it heads into the middle of the country. Additional concerts are scheduled for October 24 in Denver and the next night, October 25, in neighboring Boulder, Colorado, before the group wraps up its Centennial State on October 26 at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek, Colorado.

The tour continues in Omaha, Nebraska, on October 29, before a Midwest appearance in Rockford, Illinois, on October 30. Next on the schedule is a performance by the combined ensemble at the Louisville Palace in Louisville, Kentucky, on November 1, before another performance at the Andrew J Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, on November 2. On the East Coast, performances will take place at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, New Jersey, on November 4, immediately preceding a night at the Beacon Theater in New York on November 6.

The tour will visit the prestigious Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY for two nights on November 7 and 8, marking the only back-to-back concerts at identical venues. The group of talented musicians will travel to the Met in Philadelphia on November 9, followed by a night at the Orpheum Theater in Boston. Back in the Empire State, tributes to Robertson will continue at Proctors in Schenectady, NY, and the Kodak Center in Rochester, NY, before a final date at Meridian Hall in Toronto on November 16.

Tickets go on sale August 16. For more information, visit the tour’s official website.
