COATESVILLE – The Coatesville Youth Initiative (CYI) is pleased to announce its upcoming backpack giveaway and community day on Saturday, August 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 545 East Lincoln Highway, Coatesville.
The Faith-Based Coalition, sponsored by the Coatesville Area Faith-Based Coalition, aims to give local children the tools they need for a successful school year while bringing the community together for fun and festivities.
At the heart of the event, CYI, along with Penn Medicine, will be giving away backpacks filled with essential school supplies to students in grades K-12. Please note that preschool bags will not be available and all families must pre-register to secure a backpack. In addition, all participants must be present at the event to receive their backpacks.
In addition to the backpack award, the event promises a variety of exciting activities for the whole family, including a bouncy castle, face painting, a children’s zone, a diving pool, a bike
Giveaways, a photo booth, lots of fun exhibits and tons of crafts!
“We are very pleased to offer this event to help the youth and families in the Coatesville community prepare for the upcoming school year,” said Jarvis Berry, Executive Director
at CYI. “Our goal is to ensure that every child in our community has the resources they need to succeed, while providing a day of joy and connection for all participants.”
