Kendre Miller is Saints player of the 25th day

Our countdown to kickoff continues, with just 25 days left until the official start of the 2024 season for the New Orleans Saints. To mark the occasion, we’re taking a closer look at running back Kendre Miller, who wears jersey No. 25 for the team.

Here’s everything you need to know about Miller, who is at the center of one of the Saints’ notable position battles of the preseason:

  • Name (age): Kendall Miller (22)
  • Position: Run back
  • Size, weight: 6 feet, 220 pounds
  • Relative sporting score: N/A
  • Salary cap reached in 2024: 1,285,071 USD
  • College: TCU
  • Elaborated: Round 3, No. 71 (2023, New Orleans Saints)
  • NFL experience: 2nd season

The Saints selected the former Horned Frogs ball carrier in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft and he made a strong impression from the start, finishing his college career with 2,410 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns on 361 carries.

Miller was plagued by injuries during his rookie season, but still managed to be a force in New Orleans’ backfield in the final game of the regular season. He appeared in 8 games and tallied 156 rushing yards and a single touchdown on 41 attempts. He showed versatility so sought after in running backs in the modern era, catching 10 passes for 117 yards that same season.

Miller’s 2024 preseason has not started off well so far, as he missed the opening game against the Arizona Cardinals with a hamstring injury. He has been out of action since the first day of training camp.

This opens the door further for his competitor, former Fresno State runner Jordan Mims, who is trying to stake his claim for the third spot on the rankings.

Miller needs to get healthy so he can make the most of the rest of the preseason, starting with Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
