OAK HARBOR, Ohio (WTVG) – Citizens were outraged after several animals were found injured by blowguns in Riverside Park in Findlay last month.

The Ohio Division of Wildlife and the Findlay Police Department are investigating, but no one has been arrested yet.

Now a man offers to help.

“I just don’t want to see animals abused,” said Adam Snyder, who offers incentives for people to catch the perpetrator. “It just bothered me.”

Snyder isn’t even from Findlay, actually living several counties away in Oak Harbor. But when he saw the 13 Action News report, he wanted to help in any way he could.

“I told them I would be willing to offer a $1,000 reward for the capture of whoever did this to these animals,” Snyder said.

Geese are one of Snyder’s favorite animals and he regularly goes to parks to observe the wildlife.

He said he wanted to prevent animal suffering and ensure the safety of the parks for everyone.

“You don’t want a family to go to a park and see arrows sticking out of an animal’s head,” Snyder said.

His only wish is that the attacks on animals stop and the person responsible turns himself in. If that doesn’t happen, the reward will remain until the person is caught, no matter how long that takes.

“But the $1,000 will stay there until the person is caught … Whether that’s in six months, a year or 10 years, I’m going to offer the $1,000 no matter what happens,” Snyder said.

Anyone with information about a shooter can call the wildlife agency’s hotline at 1-800-POACHER. Anyone who sees an animal injured by a blowgun dart can call 1-800-WILDLIFE to notify an officer.

Snyder said to claim the reward, people should contact wildlife management and Findlay police. If an arrest is made or charges are filed, they can contact Snyder to claim the reward.
