Baldur’s Gate 3 continues its successful series with the Hugo Award for best fictional work

Highlights of history

  • Baldur’s Gate 3 has won another award a year after its full release.
  • It won the Hugo Award, which is considered the most prestigious award for a work of fiction.
  • The CRPG was such a huge success that its recognition seems to have no end.

It seems that Baldur’s Gate 3’s winning streak is not going to end anytime soon. Even a year after its breakthrough, the CRPG continues to be praised for its numerous successes.

The title has just won another award, and this time the CRPG won a Hugo Award.

Why it is important: The developers of Baldur’s Gate 3 claimed that they won so many awards at once that it disrupted the development cycle. The prestige and fame continues to grow as they just won a Hugo Award.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has become one of the biggest titles in the industry

Winning a Hugo Award is no small feat. It is considered the most prestigious award that a science fiction or fantasy works. The video games category was first added to these awards in 2021, but no awards have been given out in the past two years.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was against people like Alan Wake 2Chants of Senaar, Dredge, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for the award. It once again beat Alan Wake 2 to secure an important prize, outshining the competition.

The Hugo nominations and awards have always dominated my reading list, so it is a great honor to be here.
