DragChamp Top 10 List

1 – Andrew Goss

Andrew Goss is a staple in the winner’s circle at Mo-Kan Dragway as he wins on a regular basis. This past weekend was even more special as the DragChamp Pro member won three classes on the same day! Goss won Super Pro in his Dragster, Footbrake in his Wagon, and Sportsman in his GTO to secure first place this week!

2 – Zack Gosnell

Zack Gosnell has been unstoppable of late after picking up multiple victories. Last weekend, Gosnell doubled his performance at Bunker Hill (wins on Friday and Saturday) and came just two wins away from a weekend sweep after losing in the semifinals on Sunday.

3 – Crue Garrett

DragChamp Pro member Crue Garrett made it to the winner’s circle for the third week in a row! Garrett won in Brett Spence’s Nova a few weeks ago, then jumped in his dragster to win at Ardmore and then at Xtreme Raceway Park, finishing in third place.

4 – Rob Fisher

Rob Fisher’s weekend started slow but eventually ended with a one-two finish at Coles County. After losing the first round in both races on Saturday, Fisher went undefeated the rest of the weekend, collecting wins on Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, he switched cars after the rear of his station wagon started making noise late Saturday night. On Sunday, he hopped in his wife’s Malibu and made it to the winner’s circle for the second day in a row!

5 – Jason Hop

Jason Hop won the top dragster class at the NHRA National Open in Rock Falls this weekend. Hop won both days with his Shorty Dragster and secured a place in the top ten.

6 – Jody Lang

Jody Lang broke into the top 10 again after earning two wins in four finals at the last few NHRA D6 events. Lang took the Super Stock win at the D6 LODRS race this weekend after two second-place finishes at the previous two events. During that time, Lang also won a national event in his stocker and reached a semifinal in his SS Malibu.

7 – Michael Dalrymple

Michael Dalrymple has been outstanding in recent Division 6 events. In the last four races he has won Super Gas twice and also finished second in Super Comp. This past weekend Michael won SG at the D6 LODRS race, which was his second in a row after recently winning SG at the Northwest Nationals.

8 – Jaeden Durst

Jaeden Durst secures 8th place after winning $5,000 at the Bottom Bulb Bash at US 131 Motorsports Park. Durst was doubled up until he ran himself in the semifinals. He then used a quad zip reaction in the finals to secure the win. Durst was 17-0 on the day!

9 – Hadyn Amborn

Hadyn Amborn took a one-two finish at the Hot Rod Nationals in Woodburn this weekend, completing the season series and securing the championship with a 13-lap lead over 2nd place.

10 – Rich VanElls

Rich VanElls closes out the top 10 list after earning a no-box win on Saturday and finishing second on Sunday at the Mid Michigan Motorplex.

exclamation

Mallory Bontrager won 12 of 13 rounds at XRP on Saturday, winning the Pro class and coming just a couple of wins short of a one-two in the second race later that evening. She was riding for a good friend who was killed on the track on Friday and for Scotty Richardson, who is battling health issues.

DragChamp Pro Member Cody Wiggins drove his newly completed 3600 lb A-Body to victory in the Quick 16 class at I57. The car is tagged/insured/working windows/lights/tilt top/etc!

Numidia Super Pro Final – Ray Thurston and Bob Mullaney had an incredible final lap duel last weekend. Mullaney’s trip-zip dead-one did not end in a win, as Thurston had a .001 dead-zero chance of winning. Not bad for a pair of 69-year-old racers!
