Juan Soto delivers an epic three-homer show for the Yankees

CHICAGO — Juan Soto’s long list of milestones grew longer Tuesday night at Guaranteed Rate Field.

The Yankees star hit three home runs in one game for the first time in his career, giving his team a 4-0 lead over the White Sox in seven innings.

Soto’s first two home runs of the night went to opposite field before he pulled the third into right field in a left-versus-left duel at the start of the seventh inning.

In one night, Soto came a lot closer to his career high for a season, the 35 home runs he hit with the Padres last year.

In his first season in the pinstripe jersey, he has now hit 33 balls, continuing his monster walk before this season’s free agency showdown.

When Soto hit a home run in the fifth inning – his second of the night against White Sox right-hander Jonathan Cannon – it was the 23rd time in his career that he hit two home runs in a game.

In the seventh inning, he surpassed that performance with a longball against left-handed reliever Fraser Ellard.
