Now, World of Warcraft has shown its first official teaser for these Dracthyr class options. Recently, a new WoWCast episode was released, focusing mainly on dungeons, delves, PvP and raids in WoW: The War Within. Attentive players noticed that on one of the Warbands character select screens shown during the video, one of the Dracthyr wielded two-handed axes – a feat only possible for Fury Warriors – marking the first official debut of a Dracthyr who is not an Evoker. Fans can spot this hero at the campfire at 1:38 during the WoWCast episode.

Dracthyr Warrior Sighting in WoWCast “The War Within”

Interestingly, this is not the first time that a Dracthyr has appeared on the character selection screen in Warbands with items that it cannot normally equip. When the World of Warcraft feature was first revealed at BlizzCon 2023. One of the four characters in the Warbands mockup image was a Dracthyr in leather armor, despite Evokers being a chain class. Although this was initially confirmed as an oversight, Blizzard later opened up new classes for Dracthyr anyway, so it’s possible that the teaser during the WoWCast episode was an intentional nod to the previous instance.

At the moment, players don’t know exactly when the Dracthyr class expansion will be released, but the inclusion of the Dracthyr Warrior in this video suggests that development may be further along than originally thought. With a little luck World of Warcraft can add these options in The war within Patch 11.0.5 is currently expected in October or November, but could just as easily be released next year as version 11.1 or later.

Either way, fans can be happy because Dracthyr will soon be able to play almost every class in the game. While Death Knight, Druid, Paladin and Shaman are currently still up in the air and Demon Hunters are out of the question, Dragonflight made the other World of Warcraft Classes are universally available, so Dracthyr will likely be able to choose from them. Hopefully players will find out exactly which classes Dracthyr can choose from in an official announcement soon.
