The Yankees will host the 76th Old-Timers’ Day, presented by FreshDirect, at Yankee Stadium on Saturday, August 24

The New York Yankees today announced the squad of former Yankees who will play in the 76th Classic Car Day presented by FreshDirect on Saturday, August 24th, at Yankee Stadium. The event commemorates the 15thth Anniversary of the 2009 World Series champion team. Participants include Hall of Famers Derek Jeter and Mariano Riverafirst-time classic car Alex Rodriguez And MVP of the 2009 World Series Hideki Matsui.

The Old-Timers’ Day award winners include nine members of Monument Park, seven of whom have had their numbers retired by the Yankees − Hall of Famers Jeter (2), Rivera (42) And Joe Torres (6)Franchise Strikeout Leader Andy Petit (46)five-time All-Star Jorge Posada (20)Franchise postseason home run leaders Bernie Williams (51)1994 AL batting champion and current YES Network commentator Paul O’Neill (21)five-time Yankees All-Star Willie Randolph and hero of the first game of the 1998 World Series Tino Martinez.

They are joined by the current Yankees manager Aaron BooneMost Valuable Player of the ALCS 1998 Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez and in 1978 a playoff game hero and MVP of the World Series Bucky Dent.

Other members of the 2009 championship team include manager Joe Girardi, CC Sabathia, Nick Swisher, Johnny Damon And AJ Burnett. In addition, former Yankees players and current YES Network commentators David Cone, John Flaherty And Jeff Nelson will participate.

The Yankees will also celebrate their history by including the widows of three legendary Yankees – Diana MunsonWidow of Thurman Munson; Kay MurcerWidow of Bobby Murcer; And Jill MartinWidow of Billy Martin.\

Fans are asked to be in their seats by 12:00 noon to watch the introductions of the classic cars, which will be driven by Michael Kay. A live question and answer session with the players – hosted by Suzy Waldman And Joe Girardi — will follow.

The YES Network will broadcast both the Old-Timers’ Day ceremonies and the Yankees game against the Colorado Rockies at 2:05 p.m.
