USAC Silver Crown at WWT Raceway: Entry List and Storylines

For the eleventh year, the USAC Silver Crown National Championship will take place this Friday, August 16th on the biggest, boldest and fastest track in the USAC Silver Crown.

Nineteen drivers and cars have entered the Ranken Technical College Silver Crown Showdown presented by Welsch Heating & Cooling at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois for the 60-lap, 75-mile spectacle on the 1.25-mile paved oval track.

Among the participants are three former WWT Raceway Silver Crown winners: Bobby Santos (2013 and 2014) of Franklin, Massachusetts; current series points leader Kody Swanson (2022) of Kingsburg, California; and defending champion Davey Hamilton Jr. (2023) of Boise, Idaho.

Former WWT Silver Crown top-five finishers seeking their first career win this Friday night on the St. Louis-area oval include Justin Grant (3rd in 2023) of Ione, Calif.; Mario Clouser (3rd in 2022) of Auburn, Illinois; defending series champion Logan Seavey (4th in 2023) of Sutter, Calif.; and Nathan Byrd (5th in 2022) of Goodyear, Arizona.

Several others who have previously earned a top-10 finish at WWT return to the fray this Friday, including Russ Gamester (6th in 1999) of Peru, Indiana; Kaylee Bryson (7th in 2023) of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Bryan Gossel (8th in 2022) of Fort Collins, Colorado; Taylor Ferns (9th in 2022) of Shelby Township, Michigan; CJ Leary (10th in 2022) of Greenfield, Indiana; and Dakoda Armstrong (10th in 2023) of New Castle, Indiana.

Returning to WWT Raceway after previous starts at the track are Patrick Lawson of Edwardsville, Illinois (12th in 2014 and 2016), Nathan Moore of Kaufman, Texas (13th in 2023), Dave Berkheimer of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania (17th in 2022) and Gregg Cory of Shelbyville, Indiana (18th in 2022).

Tyler Roahrig (Plymouth, Indiana) and Kyle Steffens (St. Charles, Missouri) are looking to compete in a main event at WWT Raceway for the first time.

RACE DETAILS

The Ranken Technical College Silver Crown Showdown, presented by Welsch Heating & Cooling, will host the USAC Silver Crown National Championship on Friday, August 16, at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois.

Parking for the Silver Crown Haulers will be from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Central Time, followed by Silver Crown practice from 1:05 p.m. to 1:50 p.m., Silver Crown qualifying beginning at 4:40 p.m., and then the 60-lap, 75-mile Silver Crown main race at 9:00 p.m.

General admission tickets are $30 (early bird), $35 (presale) and $40 (at the door). General admission tickets for those under 15 are free. Free tickets for those under 15 are only available at the door or by contacting WWT Raceway directly in advance to reserve tickets at the door.
