Step into Lil Baby’s epic Atlanta oasis

Step into Lil Baby’s epic Atlanta oasis

“Not only does it feel like home, it’s a huge accomplishment for me.” The fact that rapper Lil Baby says it speaks volumes. The 29-year-old Grammy winner is one of the world’s most successful hip-hop artists and has many career highlights, from quadruple platinum albums (his second album, It’s my turnwas one of the best-selling albums of 2020) and has won major awards. “Aside from that, this home is one of the things that shows me how far I’ve come,” he says, marveling at his new bachelor pad in the Atlanta area. “It took a lot to get here.”

Equal parts warm and spacious, stylish yet playful, the home was a collaboration between Lil Baby and Georgia-based AD PRO Directory designer Annysa LaMantia. “We talked a lot about how the home would be used, and he wanted it to be all about entertaining and hosting,” says LaMantia. A former apprentice of furniture designer Maurizio Manzoni who founded her eponymous firm in 2017, LaMantia regularly incorporates her own custom pieces into interior design projects.

“Lil Baby wanted a space where his chef would have a hibachi grill,” says LaMantia of the grill and outdoor sink installed during the renovation. “He loves entertaining in this space. The outdoor kitchen also features NanaWall windows that provide a pass-through so guests can interact between spaces.”

“Atlanta has a huge industry, from music and film to sports,” LaMantia says of the city and its influence on her work. The designer has previously worked with music personalities such as Khalid and Bobby Valentino, as well as Atlanta Hawks star Lou Williams. She has developed a flair for balancing the influences and inspirations of highly creative people with her own distinctive process. “Right after we first met, I took him to showrooms all over the city to get his opinion and see what he responded to,” LaMantia says of her assessment of Baby’s taste. “From there, I created 3D renderings that targeted what might be good for him.”

“I really let Annysa and the contractors do what they wanted,” the rapper admits, referring to Regents Custom Builders, who helped refresh the home. “They did an incredible job with the renovation afterwards,” says the firm’s Lamantia. “They really transformed the house.” Lil Baby adds, “They all brought the concept and then I came in towards the end and put my finishing touches on it.”
