Polly Pocket may be small but mighty, but this new collaboration is larger than life.
Toy giant Mattel has teamed up with Airbnb to build a real vacation home for the Polly Pocket doll’s 35th birthday.
Polly becomes an Airbnb host with the opening of the two-story Slumber Party Fun complex in Littleton, Massachusetts.
“I can’t wait for you to come over and celebrate my birthday with me in my greatest compact apartment ever,” Polly said in a statement released by Airbnb on Wednesday.
“Let’s have a really fun slumber party in my hometown of Littleton, where we make the ordinary extraordinary,” the fictional doll announced. “From my closet full of nostalgic fashion fun to the surprises I’ve hidden in the compact, there are plenty of adventures to be had. The fun is endless!”
Those lucky enough to stay at this Airbnb can literally walk in Polly’s shoes.
Her closet will be filled with life-sized versions of her iconic shoes and fashion from the 90s.
Nostalgic hair and nail accessories in Polly’s favorite colors will also be available as fans get ready at her vanity. Plus, those in the friendship bracelet era can create custom BFF charm jewelry.
The stay is also designed as a retro-style pajama party, complete with a retro fridge full of snacks “every ’90s kid wanted,” plus popcorn and a movie in the living room on Polly’s pull-out couch.
Guests can also take a short 10-foot walk to Polly’s life-sized Action Park tent after their sleepover games. Polly has even left four sleeping bags for guests.
Airbnb is offering three different overnight stays in the Polly Pocket house from September 12 to 14. Each reservation is for four guests and costs $89 per person – a nod to 1989, the year Polly was launched.
Those who want to live like a doll for a day can submit a booking request for a stay from August 21 at 6:00 a.m. PT until August 28 at 11:59 p.m. PT, when the request period ends.
For fans who can’t make it to a pajama party, Polly Pocket will open her home for daytime playdates for up to 12 guests at a time from September 16 to October 6.
It should be noted that the life-sized powder compact cannot be closed because, like Polly, it is “always open for adventure”.
