Billie Eilish lands the world’s number 1 hit for the first time in her career

Billie Eilish has been a global superstar for more than half a decade. She has produced some of the biggest hits of recent years and is known around the world. Even after so much time in the spotlight and so much success, there are still new heights to reach for the singer-songwriter.

“Birds of a Feather” lands at number 1 in the Billboard worldwide rankings this week. The song simultaneously rises from second place to first place on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global 200 Excl. US.

Eilish secures the top spot in both rankings for the first time in this frame. She has had a number of major global wins throughout her career, but has never managed to top those lists before.

It is worth mentioning that Billboard introduced both global rankings in 2020, shortly after Eilish became a household name. Had the rankings existed in previous years, she would have had a much better chance of reaching No. 1, perhaps with “Bad Guy,” which turned out to be a surprise hit.

Before this week, two Eilish songs reached number two on both lists, although there are differences in which songs reached that position. On the Billboard Global 200, both “Therefore I Am” and “What Was I Made For?” missed the number one spot by just one spot.

On the Billboard Global 200 Excl. US, “Therefore I Am” also reached number 2, as did the first single from Eilish’s latest album. Hit me hard and soft. “Lunch” came in second on the list, which ranks the most popular songs in the world and excludes all data from America.

“Birds of a Feather” takes the throne on both charts after Jimin held the top spot for several frames. The BTS singer’s “Who” debuted at number one on both rankings and stayed there for two weeks.

At the same time that she lands her first number one hit, Eilish also lands another top 10 hit. “Guess,” fronted by Charli XCX and featuring Eilish on the remix, lands in the top 10 on both charts, albeit in different positions.
