Cast complete for Off-Broadway world premiere of Ghost of John McCain Musical comedy

The psychological exploration of power, rivalry and human nature will be performed for the first time at the SoHo Playhouse next month.

The casting for the upcoming world premiere of The ghost of John McCainat the SoHo Playhouse. Performances at the Off-Broadway theater begin September 3, with the official opening on September 24. The limited engagement runs through November 10.

New to the musical comedy are Lindsay Nicole Chambers as Hillary Clinton, daughter-wife and Sexy Lady Fox News Anchor; Ben Fankhauser as Roy Cohn, Lindsey Graham and Joe Biden; as well as understudy cast members Anthony Zambito, Gisela Adisa and Joshua David Robinson.

These actors are joined by the previously announced Jason Tam as John McCain, Luke Kolbe Mannikus as Donald Trump, Aaron Michael Ray as Donald Trump’s brain and Zonya Love as Kamala Harris, Karen and Eva Peron. The casting is being handled by Jason Thinger.

Based on a book by Scott Elmegreen and music and lyrics by Drew Fornarola, it is a psychological exploration of power, rivalry and the human condition. When the deceased soldier-turned-senator awakens in the afterlife, he finds himself trapped in the mind of President Donald Trump, along with a quasi-Greek chorus of other public figures, including Hillary Clinton, Roy Cohn, Eva Perón, Teddy Roosevelt, Robert Jordan and Lindsey Graham. To escape, the motley crew is forced to engage in a high-stakes debate about life, legacy and “American values.” Directed by Catie Davis.

The production features choreography by Sunny Min-Sook Hitt, set design by Lawrence E. Moten III, costumes by Mieka van der Ploeg, hair and wig design by Ashley Rae Callahan, lighting design by Colleen Doherty, and sound design by Daniela Hart/Uptown Works NYC. Vadim Feichtner will serve as musical director.

The musical was already read in New York in January, with Ken Marks as John McCain, Hudson Loverro as Donald Trump, Major Attaway as Donald Trump’s brain, Ann Harada as Karen, Andrew Polk as Lindsey Graham and Angie Schworer as Hillary Clinton.

The ghost of John McCain is produced by Quixote Productions and Max Fose.
