Drogheda public and business community are asked to support the cause

The Eden Room at the Marcy Hotel was the aptly named venue for the launch of ‘The Jungle Challenge’, a fundraiser to be held at the TLT Theatre on October 4 to raise money for the construction of the proposed Moneymore Townland Community Hub.

“The Jungle Challenge” is a spin-off of the popular TV show “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here” and the show at the TLT promises to be an unforgettable evening, even if the participants will probably prefer to forget it.

The presence of a very large snake at the launch caused a great deal of commotion as people took photos with the slippery snake, but the screams were drowned out by laughter.

On the evening itself, two teams (Snake Rock and Croc Creek) compete to collect stars for their teams by overcoming their greatest fears… Not for the faint of heart.

Two dozen participants have signed up to be camp roommates for the night in order to test themselves live on stage in various challenges/trails.

Who will survive the hell holes, bugs and snakes, who will devour the delicious critters and complete a series of scary, funny and suspenseful challenges to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle?

This is the largest fundraiser to date for the Moneymore Townland Community Hub (MTCH), which when completed will be an inclusive, safe place designed to promote community wellbeing and prosperity for generations to come.

Mayor of Drogheda Paddy McQuillan has supported the Moneymore Community Hub appeal and is pictured at the launch with organisers Cliodhna Cunningham, Valerie Atherton and Lisa Cleary.

This flagship facility will bring together projects and services in which the community can participate and receive support to meet their needs and advance their ambitions in family life, health, education, training, leisure, civic and social engagement.

The main tenants are Connect FRC, Cable Youth Diversion Project and the Moneymore Afterschool Project. Based in North Drogheda, the HUB will provide services that will have a positive impact on Drogheda and the surrounding areas.

This unmissable event takes place live at the TLT Theatre on October 4th at 8pm. Tickets (€25 each) go on sale this morning, Monday 12th August. They are expected to sell out very quickly, so CLICK HERE NOW to secure your ticket.
