Man arrested after stabbing in London’s Leicester Square – including an 11-year-old girl

A man charged with stabbing an 11-year-old girl in Leicester Square is due to appear in court today.

Police rushed to the London tourist hotspot on Monday morning after an incident was reported near the TWG tea shop, which is next to the Lego store and in front of the M&Ms store, at around 11:30am.

Ioan Pintaru, 32, has now been charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court this morning.

The 11-year-old victim was found with stab wounds. She was taken to hospital where her injuries were serious but not considered life-threatening.

Initially, it was assumed that the girl’s 34-year-old mother was also injured. However, it was later confirmed that the blood from her daughter’s injuries had been mistaken for her own injuries.

Police release update on injuries from knife attack

Police confirmed that the mother of the girl stabbed in the Leicester Square attack was not injured in the attack.

It was initially assumed that the 34-year-old mother of the 11-year-old girl had also been injured in the stabbing. However, it was later confirmed that the blood from her daughter’s injuries had been mistaken for her own injuries.

The eleven-year-old’s injuries are unlikely to be life-threatening.

With the help of other passers-by, 29-year-old Abdullah managed to hold the suspect until emergency services arrived and arrested him at the scene.

Shop employee sees girl with “a lot of blood” on her face

A saleswoman heard screams outside and said she found the girl lying on the floor with wounds on her face. the mirror reports.

She said: “I heard screams and then I saw the girl with a lot of blood all over her face.

“Two security guards held him down. It seemed like a random attack. He didn’t fight back against the security guards. He didn’t even offer resistance.”
